The background includes a print that could be found on a Norwegian sweater. Finally, surrounding the clock is a trail connecting Wisconsin to Norway, as a representation of Stoughton’s history with the Scandinavian country. The clock also shows a specific time, 5:17, which is the numerical date of Syttende Mai.
